Founded in the summer of 2010 by digital marketing strategist and book industry veteran, Rusty Shelton, the company has directed digital strategy for some of the world’s largest and most respected brands, including Chicken Soup for the Soul, IBM, Amazon and Harvard Health Publications. A full-service digital agency based in Austin, TX, Shelton Interactive has five key departments–web development, social media, public relations, design and SEO–and each department works hand-in-hand with the others to ensure our clients have a well-rounded, integrated digital strategy.

Prior to founding Shelton Interactive, Rusty spent seven years at a top literary publicity firm and saw a need for a new kind of agency engineered for a new world of marketing–one in which digital and traditional marketing and PR efforts are fully integrated. He felt there was a void in the market for leading brands, businesses, authors and experts who wanted to integrate all of their digital marketing and PR services under one roof, instead of piecemealing the management and growth of their brand across several different vendors.

The company’s first client was leading neurologist Dr. Richard Senelick, followed by two of the biggest brands in the world, Chicken Soup for the Soul and Harvard Medical School. Shortly after the company’s founding, Shelton Interactive formed a strategic partnership with Cave Henricks Communications, the country’s leading business book PR firm, and continues to exclusively handle digital strategy for its clients, including bestselling authors like Ram Charan, Rory Vaden, Doug Conant and numerous others.

Most importantly, we get results–from growing Facebook pages from under 3,000 likes to more than 750,000, to securing hits in top media outlets like The New York Times, Forbes, and many others–we find creative ways to help our clients who have a meaningful message to convey to the world—something that will impact lives in a positive manner—but need an experienced partner to help them navigate the often time-consuming and confusing world of social media and digital marketing.
